Rhinestahl licensed to manufacture, sell and support Pratt & Whitney commercial engine tools worldwide

Dallas, TX (March 18, 2008)

Rhinestahl Corporation, a leading manufacturer of gas turbine engine tools and components, today announced a new license agreement with United Technologies Pratt & Whitney, headquartered in East Hartford, CT. The license is with the Tool Support Services (TSS) group of Pratt & Whitney.

Pratt & Whitney and Rhinestahl recently formalized the licensing agreement that allows Rhinestahl to provide Engine Overhaul and Maintenance Tooling for Pratt & Whitney commercial aircraft. The agreement includes all mechanical engine tooling used to service, overhaul, repair and inspect large commercial aircraft engines. The agreement permits Rhinestahl to directly market, manufacture, sell, and support Pratt & Whitney-licensed commercial tooling worldwide. All Pratt & Whitney large commercial engines—including the entire PW4000 growth series,—are part of the agreement.

“We’re excited to be the company chosen by Pratt & Whitney, worldwide, for this venture.” said Tom Johnston, Rhinestahl’s director of engineering and sales. “With our expertise in turbine engine tool engineering and manufacturing, combined with our reputation for world class customer support, TSS decided that this license relationship with Rhinestahl would be a natural step to provide the best possible customer experience” said Dieter Moeller, Rhinestahl’s general manager.  “This combined with our Boeing and Rolls-Royce licenses provide our customers a one-stop-shopping solution and promises to eliminate the headaches that most maintenance managers face when searching among various suppliers to fulfill their engine and ground support equipment needs.”

Rhinestahl will begin selling Pratt & Whitney tooling immediately. The company offers a wide range of tooling and engineering products and services to the aviation and aerospace industry, including FutureDrive®—a fully programmable electronic turning tool that, when introduced to the industry, transformed the way jet engine inspections are completed. Rhinestahl, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA is ISO 9001:2000 Registered and AS 9000 Compliant.
